The 10 th edition of Yorke Peninsula's Saltwater Classic will be held in the
sister towns of Stansbury and Port Vincent on the weekend of 2 and 3 May
Since the inaugural Saltwater Classic in 2003, and after becoming biennial
after 2004, it has grown into fantastic event for enthusiasts and admirers of
wooden and classic boats.
But the spectacular on-water and foreshore activities in both towns offer
enjoyment for people of all ages and interests with seaside markets, local
produce, arts, craft, vintage cars and motorbikes and stationary engines that
powered the past.
In 2020, we aim to make best use of beautiful May weather on Yorke
Peninsula and the expected tranquility of a dodge tide.
Visitors from across South Australia and interstate will see vessels that have
been faithfully restored by their owners to keep afloat some of the great
traditions of boat building.
The regatta is open to all sail and powerboats, but with a focus on classic
Yorke Peninsula's Saltwater Classic is a community-based event that has
become a significant tourism feature in the region. That’s why our principal
sponsor is the South Australian Tourism Commission.
